And to be really honest, after three years, I’m not sure I could still tell you. Simply because I always get compliments when I wear it, which is practically every day.
The main ingredients in the fragrance are pink pepper, which adds a spicy bite at the top; iris, which has a powdery, green–leaning floral note; ambrox, which has a base that is slightly salty, slightly creamy, and slightly musky. However, as the name would suggest, there is one thing missing from the fragrance—you.
Although it sounds very Joe Goldberg-esque, that is the case! For this perfume to truly work, your body chemistry is essential. It’s not one of those perfumes you wear to change who you are, as Glossier puts it. It mostly smells soft, warm, and familiar—just like you. Everything about it is meant to feel flexible and grow with you, regardless of where you are in your personal development.
Performance:
Glossier You has a lot of unique features. I adore the packaging; it feels pleasing to the touch with the smooth enamel finish and the weight of the metal casing. It fits into a pocket or purse with ease because of its size and shape. It’s so much fun to slide it open and closed with the tiny fingertip dimple. I really adore that it comes with a reusable pink rubber band and is refillable. It is wrapped in an eco-friendly paperboard box. GLOSSIER YOU lasts a very long time, and for a fragrance of this kind, the sillage is up to par. (People don’t buy a fragrance like Glossier You to create a large, bold, attention-grabbing aroma atmosphere.)
Regarding fragrance, Glossier You is an excellent strong like rather than a love, and the only reason for this is personal preference. Iso E Super is my go-to “your skin, but better” fragrance. Generally speaking, though, it smells on my skin like the typical clean, slightly powdery, salty skin perfume that attracts those who enjoy these kinds of scents. I’m happy I gave it a shot, and I like wearing it.
