Oh Chanel, Oh Chanel,  the mighty ever-being Chanel bottles of heavenly scents. Do you know anyone who does not own, like, or at least have one bottle of the Chanel perfume house’s magnificent scents at home?

Especially with the new channel’s scents of this year, which, in a way, celebrates the new century, they have created many magical scents for the modern metropolitan people. From Chanel No. 5 to the newest editions of Blu de Chanel, Chanel perfumery is among the most successful companies that taught people fashion and beauty decades ago (Thank You, COCO Chanel.)

You can’t claim to be a fragrance connoisseur unless you own a bottle of Chanel’s classic No. 5 or the dark, spicy masculine aroma of a Chanel Coco Noire Perfume. No.5 has been the brand’s first and undeniably most famous fragrance, created in 1921 with perfumer Ernest Beaux. It ushered in a similar revolution in the world of perfume with the launch of its first fragrance, the iconic Chanel N°5, in 1921. This fragrance is still a global best-seller scent, thanks to innovative advertising and celebrity endorsements that keep it fresh.

But don’t overlook their other famous men’s and women’s fragrances, which are all equally deserving of a place on your vanity. Not sure where to begin? Allow us to simplify the selection process even further: We requested a list of the brand’s top five best-selling scents. The Perfume Magazine, this time, discusses what makes each of the best Chanel perfumes genuinely iconic.

1. Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, Best Overall Successful Scent

According to The Perfume Magazine editors, the best Chanel perfume is Coco Mademoiselle. Veronica Lopez, Cosmo’s sex and relationships editor, immediately recognized this as Coco Mademoiselle during a blind spritz session because it’s her personal favorite scent. The notes are all blended seamlessly, so you don’t notice any particular note or scent family—it just smells clean and dainty (thanks to the orange and rose, which balance out the smokey, rich patchouli). If the “clean girl aesthetic” had a scent, it would be this.

2. Chanel N°5 Parfum, The Greatest and Most iconic Chanel Perfume

It wouldn’t be right to start a list of the best-selling Chanel perfumes without mentioning the original Chanel No. 5 parfum. The legendary scent was first created in 1921, but it wasn’t until 1986 that Chanel perfumer Jacques Polge created a fuller rendition that would become the eau de parfum. There are now five different versions of this iconic perfume. For more information about this classic Chanel scent, The Perfume Magazine suggests taking a look at the extended review of this scent.

    • Chanel N°5 Parfum Notes: Aldehydes, Jasmine, Neroli, Sandalwood

3. Bleu de Chanel, Only One Puff of This Woodsy Chanel Scent to Fall in Love

Blue de Chanel’s woody, aromatic scent isn’t just for men: “Since its launch, Bleu de Chanel eau de parfum has been a best-seller scent in the US, and I am actually aware that some women buy it for themselves,” Levy adds.

They describe Bleu de Chanel as a “woody-aromatic” fragrance. Still, it definitely has a marine/sports vibe (despite its big-city-at-night/”dressy” ad campaign), and the perfume’s marine nature becomes more pronounced the longer I wear it.

Bleu de Chanel is not a perfume to try on paper (where it smells stunted and “sketchy”); it must be worn—and applied liberally—to experience its subtle stages of development. Blue de Chanel has good sillage and lasting power, and it smells more masculine to me than “unisex.”

    • EDP
    • Bleu de Chanel Notes: Pink pepper, jasmine, cedar, sandalwood, patchouli

4. Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, The Best Daily Chanel Scent To Get You more Tender

Chance is Chance’s flanker. Jacques Polge also created Eau Tendre, which was released in 2010. Grapefruit, quince, hyacinth, jasmine, amber, cedar, iris, and white musk are among the notes. Eau Tendre is a soft, sheer scent that reminds me of banana, strawberry, sweet musk, and a hint of pepper. It has a light sillage and would be ideal for a shy adolescent. Or maybe a shampoo. Even with the entire sample vial dumped on my skin, Eau Tendre vanishes within an hour. I detect no connection between it and Chance, Sr.

If the thought of dousing yourself in a strong perfume makes your head hurt, let me introduce you to Chance Eau Tendre. According to our testing, it’s basically Chanel’s most citrusy, fresh scent. But don’t be fooled by the fruitiness—this could easily be worn year-round, day or night. The addition of musk and rose really balances everything out and leaves you smelling like you took the best everything shower ever.

5. Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche Eau de Parfum, Awesome cool Chanel Fragrance

The highest compliment I could ever hope to receive? “You smell good.” That was the first thing a guy said to me on a date last week while wearing this perfume. Then, there was the random person in the grocery store line. Then there was my Uber driver. Then there was my coworker. The compliments continued to pour in. And I completely understand why. This light citrus perfume embodies the essence of summer. It smells bright and happy, and apparently, my fellow New Yorkers agreed.

Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche Eau de Parfum is a refreshing and vibrant fragrance that embodies the essence of a summer breeze. With its blend of citrus notes, jasmine, and teakwood, it creates a light and refreshing scent that is perfect for everyday wear. The Eau de Parfum concentration ensures that the fragrance lasts all day, leaving a trail of elegance wherever you go.

    • Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche Notes: Lemon, pink pepper, jasmine, iris, patchouli

N°5 Parfum Chanel

It wouldn’t be right to start a list of the best-selling Chanel perfumes without mentioning the original, Chanel No. 5 parfum.

It depends on the Chanel’s scent family.

Chance Eau Fraîche, on one hand, is more fruity and summery, with a mix of citrus notes that smells very fresh. If you prefer a blended, light scent, Coco Mademoiselle, a very clean, simple fragrance, was the best Chanel perfume we tested.

Chanel Eau de Parfum N°5

Chanel No. 5, which will be 100 years old in 2021, is possibly the most famous fragrance of all time.

While she is one of many people who are willing to spend at least $80 on the eau de parfum version of the celebrity scent, a $30,000 edition of Chanel No. 5 Parfum Grand Extrait is an enticing but understandably outlandish purchase. Yes, a $30,000 Chanel No. 5 bottle exists.

COCO MADEMOISELLE Eau de Parfum Intense is given a voluptuous dimension by an extreme, luminous concentration of patchouli. The warm, soft, and feminine accord—an enticing blend of Madagascar tonka bean and vanilla—wraps the scent in sensuality.

Yes, Chanel No. 5 remains a popular and iconic fragrance. It was first created in 1921 and has continued to be a classic and timeless scent over the years.
