It’s time to discuss Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb: sensual bouquet of floral delights.
I know a lot of other folks that wore it as well. But I’m telling you, if you haven’t tried it yet, Flowerbomb not only smells fantastic on other people, but it also smells great on you. You’ll break it in like an old leather jacket hours after the first spritz. That’s when things really start to become interesting.
What I do know is that smells like an expensive floral arrangement made everything else seem a little less mundane. When I went to my favorite yoga class at noon, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the flowerbomb’s more sensuous elements (patchouli, musk, and the sweeter florals) became more powerful as the vinyasa flow heated up.
I now understand Flowerbomb’s slew of disciples and offshoots (there’s a hair spray, a body cream, a rollerball, a shower gel, and an oil). A few weekends ago, before running errands—that is, doing incredibly boring things while smelling like a bouquet of roses, jasmine, and orchids—I misted myself for the first time in Flowerbomb. And supposedly freesia; however, who can actually describe the scent of freesia? I’m getting off-topic. What I do know is that the dullness was made a little more pleasurable by the scent of an upscale floral arrangement. And to my joy, the scent’s more seductive notes—patchouli, musk, and the sweeter florals—grew more vital as the vinyasa flow heated up when I arrived for my favorite yoga class at midday.
It opens up as a lot of sugar candy with a hint of citrus and dries down to a sweet dessert of amber and patchouli with a hint of vanillic flavor. It has no sharp edges and is incredibly creamy and smooth scent. Though they aren’t forceful, there are some flowers along the route. I should not have assumed that enjoying Flowerbomb required a fondness for flowers. I’m not really a “flower” type, and at first, I did find the perfume rather sickly-sweet or candyfloss-like, but after letting it dry for ten to twenty minutes, what happens?
Performance:
Flowerbomb is a high-end perfume that lasts longer than any of my celebrity or drugstore scents! Applying this in the morning before work allows me to smell it till five o’clock at night. If you’re heading out or to an event after work, I’d suggest reapplying it to make it a little more robust for the evening.
It’s also an excellent performance. Flowerbomb does hold on with a certain bravura one night into the wee hours of the morning. Moreover, the sillage makes sense. A woman shouldn’t take more than ten sprays, yet even at recommended dosages, Sillage fills a room.
Flowerbomb is a fragrance that lingers for a long time. Its substantial base layer emerges long after the perfume is applied, with musk overpowering the sweetness of the fragrance’s initial notes. The scent can be overwhelming and unpleasant for some people.
However, for those who appreciate bold and long-lasting fragrances, Flowerbomb’s lingering presence can be captivating.
