Best Givanchy L’Interdit EDP Rouge Review + Description

Givanchy L'Interdit EDP. Rouge highlights:

Givenchy’s L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge is a women’s Amber Floral scent. L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge debuted in 2021. Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo, and Fanny Bal co-created L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge. The top notes are ginger and blood orange; the middle notes are tuberose, jasmine, and pimento leaf; and the base notes are sandalwood, patchouli, and vetiver.
Givenchy’s renowned L’Interdit perfume, which debuted in 1957, had a contemporary update in 2018, becoming L’Interdit Eau de Parfum. This updated scent highlighted the contrast between a bouquet of white flowers, notably tuberose, and powerful woody and earthy elements.
L’Interdit Rouge Ultime, introduced in 2023, combines a warm, woody floral fragrance with recycled cocoa shells and dark smokey undertones to compliment the original composition’s flowery scent.

Givanchy L'Interdit EDP. Rouge reviews:

I really dislike the original L’Interdit. I can’t take the heavy grape juice aroma emanating from the white flowers, particularly the jasmine and tuberose blend. Jasmine is one of my least favorite notes, and we have a love-hate relationship. Rouge also has “grape juice,” but in a different, more pleasant mix that I’ve grown to enjoy.
Consider this: a lady arrives in a room, all eyes on her for her fascinating aura, oozing femininity, and arresting scent. Her beautiful black hair cascaded down her slim figure as she wore a short red side split dress with black stiletto heels and smoky makeup. She passes past a bunch of males, and mouths drop! Nobody knows what is more appealing: her or her fascinating smell. A diva in every sense of the term! L’interdit, which means prohibited in French, perfectly characterizes the aromatic journey you’re about to embark upon. It is a very amazing version of the iconic Givenchy label.
I realized I needed this in my life after only a few spritzes and before the dry down! The composition of L’interdit EDP Rouge begins with powerful wafts of fiery ginger, which are mixed with a subtle citrusy touch from blood orange. Ginger here isn’t particularly sharp. It’s been softly and creamy incorporated into the mixture. Simply fascinating! Fortunately for me, ginger lasted less than a minute, allowing for a choreography of tuberose and jasmine. The sparkling sweet tuberose is ‘ mature’ rather than ‘juvenile’.

Presentation

The bottle is identical to all other L’interdit bottles, with the exception that it is dark crimson, sometimes almost black, implying that it will be a heavier, spicier, nighttime version. This is correct – there is something in this edition that was not in prior versions, and which I found wanting throughout the spectrum. A black rubber band wraps around the cap, which bears a silver patch with the Givenchy insignia in the center. I love the bottle. It makes me feel incredibly confident and feminine.
The bottle is basic yet intriguing; it is wine-red lacquered with a black rubber band around the neck and the house’s insignia in the center. It looks just as feminine as it smells.
The bottle’s design perfectly complements the fragrance, exuding a sense of elegance and sophistication. Its wine-red lacquer and black rubber band create a captivating contrast, while the Givenchy insignia adds a touch of luxury. Overall, the bottle’s aesthetic enhances the overall experience of using the perfume, making it even more enticing for any woman.

Notes:

Top notes: Ginger, Blood Orange.
Middle Notes: Tuberose, Jasmine, Pimento Leaf.
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vetiver.
This smell is based on orange blossom from Tunisia’s Nabeul area, which was supposedly extracted using four different processes. Tuberose complements the warm tones of upcycled cocoa beans. Patchouli and vetiver blend with ambroxan as the scent develops, while the honeyed and enticing notes of Balkan tobacco absolutely provide depth.
Rouge’s top notes include ginger, which is sparkling, and spicy, and gives a “heat” to the perfume, as well as blood orange, which is both juicy and sweet rather than citrusy and fresh. In the middle notes of this version, the orange flower has been replaced by a pimento leaf, which gives the perfume a green undertone. This mix gives the scent a beautiful spice that I find slightly oriental, something we haven’t seen in L’Interdit perfumes before. The fragrance’s base notes include patchouli and vetiver, with the addition of sandalwood for a beautiful creaminess, sweetness, and woodiness.
These base notes provide a warm and earthy foundation to the fragrance, creating a sense of depth and richness. The combination of patchouli, vetiver, and sandalwood adds a touch of sensuality to the overall composition, making it a captivating and long-lasting scent.
Spicy scents are sometimes thought to be old-fashioned, but this spice is really refined, modern, and unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.

Performance:

Givenchy’s L’interdit Rouge really shines in colder temperatures. You’d be enveloped in beast mode sillage for at least 6 hours of wear! I do not advocate using it in warm weather since it will be extremely heavy. In the searing heat of summer, it lasted a solid 5 hours on my skin, which is incredible given the Mediterranean temperature and horrible humidity where I reside. It has a long-lasting effect on materials! It’s certainly one of the most powerful smells I own.
The fragrance’s projection and duration are weaker than I expected, but I don’t mind reapplying it throughout the day. You don’t have to be concerned that if you spray more of the smell on yourself, someone will notice; they won’t. On the contrary, I like essentially “pouring” this scent on myself, and I frequently receive remarks on how great I smell.
Givenchy’s L’interdit Rouge Easily lasts 6 hours on me, although you may need to reapply after that. Surprisingly, after an hour of spraying it on, I became nose-blind to it. I am quite cautious about using a fragrance-free moisturizer before applying perfume. I could sense this aroma covering the entire room for an hour, and then I couldn’t smell it anymore.

L’interdit Rouge is all you need in a sensual scent! It radiates with femininity. The perfume wonderfully captures the essence of nightclubs and nightlife. So it’s also appropriate for a dating night. It’s dark and sensual, so you’d need to be above 30 to appreciate the masterpiece that it is. It’s not for everyone, and hence not the safest blind purchase.
However, if you are someone who enjoys bold and daring fragrances, L’interdit Rouge is definitely worth a try. Its unique blend of notes creates a captivating and mysterious aura that will leave a lasting impression. Just be sure to test it out before committing to a full bottle.
